Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are we limited to cake designs seen in your portfolio?
No, we customize all cakes and will work with you to produce your unique vision.

Can we have different cake flavors in different tiers?
Yes. Most couples order two different flavors in their wedding cake, which does not affect the cost of the cake. We discourage more than two flavors, as cake service at your reception can become overly complicated.

How early should we order our wedding cake?
As an all-custom company, we limit the number of cake orders to assure high-quality and attention to detail. Our busy season runs from July through October; orders in this timeframe should be placed 3 to 6 months in advance. Other times of the year, we recommend a 1 to 3 month advance.

Can I order a cake flavor not on the flavor list?
Yes, custom flavors are available. To sample a flavor not on the flavor list, we create 4-inch sample cakes at a $20 charge. Please allow 5 days between ordering the sample and picking up, as we test recipes and order custom ingredients.

What is fondant?
A rolled sugar icing, fondant covers the outside of the cake and a thin layer of buttercream underneath. Fondant gives the cake an elegantly smooth, alabaster finish. We recommend fondant for more formal wedding cakes.

Do you have open house tastings?
Yes, we host periodic open houses between the months of October and April. These events are posted on our website. We do one-on-one consultation/tastings at our shop kitchen year round (by appointment).

What is necessary to reserve our wedding cake order?
We require a $50 deposit to reserve the date. This will be applied to the final balance of the cake order, which is due 4 days prior to your wedding date.
